The Federal government, in close cooperation with the international community, is committed to the fight against poverty and actively supports peace, freedom, democracy, human rights, a fair globalisation process and the conservation of the environment and natural resources. The most important instruments to achieve these objectives are development cooperation and the implementation of the Agenda 2030 for sustainable development under the auspices of the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ).

The Tanzania Youth Coalition (TYC), founded in 2002, is a non-governmental organisation whose aim is to make the political voice of young people in Tanzania heard. It advocates for the rights of people aged between 15 and 35 and hopes to raise their awareness of sustainable development. The TYC wants to promote its mission through the dissemination and exchange of information, political analysis, lobbying and the representation of interests.

The Wildlife and Environment Society of South Africa (WESSA) is a South African environmental organisation that has been actively engaged in conservation for over 90 years. In its work with young people, the organisation mainly focuses on education and skills development and seeks to strengthen the youth sector in South Africa through international partnerships, such as the African-German Youth Initiative (AGYI).
